About our Workshops
Our workshops offer conducting training and critique from the highest caliber conducting faculty in a non-competitive and supportive atmosphere. This year's workshop hosted by the Bohuslav Martinu Philharmonic in Zlin, Czech Republic will be led by both Larry Rachleff and Donald Schleicher. Past faculty include Gustav Meier, Otto-Werner Mueller, Carl St. Clair, Rossen Milanov, Virginia Allen, and Jacob Chi. Past host orchestras include the Bohuslav Martinu Philharmonic, the Orquestra filarmonica de Estado Chihuahua, the New Symphony Orchestra (Sofia), and the Czech Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra. Subjects include conducting technique, interpretation, score study, analysis, rehearsal technique and musician interaction. All participants receive hands-on and invaluable experience during professional orchestral sessions.

All sessions are videotaped with professional video/sound providing participants with an invaluable learning tool and exceptional conducting footage. At the end of each conducting sessions, each participant will receive a DVD of that session. Everyone will have ample opportunity to view the footage during the course of the workshop. In addition to orchestra and sextet sessions, participants be able to meet with workshop faculty to discuss technique and to review session videos.
Whether you are highly trained conductor, a promising student, or an avid amateur, our workshops offer many opportunities to improve as a conductor. In order to provide the most enriching exprience for all participants, enrollment is limited.
