Volodymyr Shunkarenko
Ukrainian bass-baritone was born in Donetsk and received his first education in the Donetsk State Music School. He studied academic vocals and finished his opera singer’s Diploma in Donetsk State Music Academy.
In 2015 Shunkarenko received the Special Prize on 53rd Vinas Competition (Barcelona, Spain). Since 2010 he has been actively involved in opera festivals in Spain including the Gran Teatro Huelva, Teatro Municipal de Toledo, Teatro de Villareal, Teatro Romea Murcia, and others. In October 2015, as guest soloist, he participated in Spain concert tour of the Chisinau National Opera (Moldova).
Since 2014 he has sung as soloist of the opera studio of Lviv National Music Academy, and from 2019 he has sung as soloist of the National Opera and Ballet Theater (Lviv).
He has sung many concerts as guest soloist performer of chamber music, sacred music and lied programs with the Lviv National Philharmonic in Lviv Organ Hall.
His repertoire includes more than 20 opera roles in operas by Mozart, Verdi, Puccini, Bizet, Rossini, Gounod, Rachmaninoff, Gulak-Artemovsky. He has toured extensively in Poland, Italy, Spain, Germany and the UAE.
