Sophia Yoo

16-year-old cellist, Sophia Yoo is a junior attending Westridge School in Pasadena, California. Sophia is currently a member of both The Colburn School's Ed and Mari Edelman Chamber Music Institute and Chamber Music OC. As an integral member of the nonprofit group, The Endpin Project, she has helped to use music to raise money and awareness for the Asian American Pacific Islander Alliance and is currently helping with more projects that will utilize music to give back to the community. Sophia’s cello studies have been primarily with Rick Mooney and currently, Sarah Koo Freeman. She loves playing chamber music with friends and in her free time likes to crochet tiny animals as she tries her best to keep houseplants alive.
